One of the key Industry 4.0 design principles is the ability of machines, devices, sensors, and people to connect and communicate with each other via the Internet of Things. Necessary data and access to information therefore represent two central layers of the Reference Architectural Model Industrie 4.0 (RAMI 4.0) and material data are one of the most relevant aspects of that space.

This session will present a concept of integration of material data flow through public and companies’ private material properties databases, both within a company and through a supply chain, with material modelling and CAE simulation at the beginning of the workflow.
The ability of big material data to help the selection and simulation process is analysed for different starting points such as analysis of one or a detailed comparison of a small group preselected materials, to a “blank canvas” approach which starts from a whole global space of 500.000 diversified materials of all sorts.

What will participants learn from your webinar?
  • Materials and data management does not have to be complicated!
  • Digitization and standardization of internal data provides the ultimate flexibility Control and validation of materials drives consistency in product development and quality
  • It is possible to provide end users with a controlled but tailored access to the data they need, fast Reduce testing by reusing data from internal and reference data sources
Why should you watch/participate?
  • How can you efficiently digitize and organize a list of approved materials, add existing test data, attach documents and give access to those who count?
  • How can this approved list of materials and properties to your other engineering tools such as your PLM system, CAD/CAE tools or even BOM creation and ERP systems?
  • How can you combine your data with a reliable reference source of over 450,000 materials and make relevant technical decisions using the most important functions?

Who is the target group of this webinar?
  • Engineering Departmental Managers, Materials Specialists, Designers (CAD and CAE), Quality Engineers and Technical, Purchasing/Procurement, Blockchain Managers.
  • Appropriate for any engineers who would like to explore the topic of digitized materials information and management
Is advance registration required?
  • You will be asked to register at the beginning of the live sessions
